The Ministry of Labour and Welfare responds to the union

As we reported earlier, on January 25, the USLGPSEA addressed a letter to the Minister of Labor and Welfare, Mesrop Arakelyan, in which, in particular, he informed the Minister about the need to adhere to social partnership and democratic principles, citing the Budget System Act, and the articles of the Labour Act which define remuneration principles. As was reported, the Minister had made a unilateral decision to use the fund intended for the remuneration of employees for other purposes. We reminded him in the letter that although the National Tripartite Collective Agreement was signed in October, it has not been implemented yet.

On February 24, we received a response letter from the ministry. Unfortunately, the issue we raised is not mentioned. Instead, the ministry quote passages from various Acts that we originally quoted in our writing. It is also mentioned that the sittings of the National Tripartite Commission envisaged by the National Collective Agreement did not take place, as the Commission was not formed due to martial law. However, the responses pledge that in the future the ministry will discuss with its employees on trade and socio-economic matters.
