USLGPSEA calls the Parliament to reconsider the socially unjust Act on the raising of “sticker fees”

Union of State, Local Governments and Public Service Employees of Armenia (USLGPSEA) proposed to the Members of Parliament to reconsider the recently adopted amendment to the “Compensation for Damages Caused to the Life or Health of Servicemen during the Defense of Armenia Act”, which targets low- and middle-income individuals.

In the letter addressed to the Parliamentary Standing Committees on Human Rights, Defense, Public Affairs, Health և Social Affairs, State and Legal Affairs, to Speaker of Parliament Ararat Mirzoyan, the Head of “My Step” faction Lilit Makunts, the union stresses that the adoption of the law took place without public discussion, and with violations he did, violating the Republican collective agreement պայման the principles of democracy. We emphasize, that in order to recover from the current two worst crises, and in order to re-build a resilient state, it is better to remain committed to social partnership, and we suggested holding discussions with stakeholders as soon as possible to reconsider the amendment of the Act or offer compensation to employees.
